The Orioles have placed LHP Rich Hill on the 15 day disabled list with shoulder inflammation. They have recalled RHP Chris Tillman from AAA Norfolk to take his spot in the rotation.

Its unfortunate that Hill appears to have been pitching hurt, but it turns out to be a blessing for the Orioles as we can just put him on the disabled list and not have to worry about trying to pass him through waivers. The cavalry is really starting to arrive now with Tillman joining Bergesen, Hernandez, and Berken in the rotation. LHP Brian Matusz is dominating at AA, ready to be promoted to AAA, RHP Jake Arrieta is progressing at AAA after dominating AA, and LHP Zach Britton is dominating high A ball. I can’t wait to see what Tillman can bring to the table. He should be given a spot in the rotation for the rest of the year.
