W – Scott Richmond (7-10, 5.32) L – Jeremy Guthrie (10-16, 5.10)

Guthrie was able to go deep into the game, but the Blue Jays kept getting key hits with runners in scoring position. They were 5-12 with runners in scoring position for the game. Guthrie pitched 7 innings, allowing 7 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits and 2 walks. He only struck out one batter and gave up his 32nd homerun, good for 2nd in MLB. Guthrie started the 8th, but pulled after walking the lead off batter. Sean Henn was brought in. He got a flyout from the first batter he faced, but walked Rod Barajas and allowed a single to Travis Snider which allowed a run to Guthrie’s line. Cla Meredith was brought in and he got the next two batters out to get out of the inning.

The Oriole’s three runs came from two homeruns. Michael Aubrey hit his first homerun as an Oriole in the 2nd inning to give the O’s an early 2-0 lead. Justin Turner scored after walking earlier in the inning. In the 5th, Matt Wieters crushed a solo homerun to make it a 5-3 game at the time. Wieters also had a single and a walk in the game. It appears that he might be the only still giving it his all on the offensive side of things. As seemingly everyone is riding out the year and slumping along the way, Wieters has been on fire. Hes playing his best ball in September. He looks like the prospect hes been hyped up to be. Next year should be fun to watch. Felix Pie, Nick Markakis, and Ty Wiggington had singles. Luke Scott, Chad Moeller, and Robert Andino had walks.
Player of the game: Matt Wieters (2-4, R, RBI, BB, HR (8) (.290 AVG))
